How FixSift scores work

Where the number comes from, and what a good score actually means.

Your FixSift Score is a weighted average of the seven area scores. Each area score comes from the checks in that area that applied to your page.

How a check contributes

Every check resolves to one of four outcomes:

**Pass** — full marks.
**Partial** — something is there but incomplete.
**Fail** — the thing is missing or working against you.
**Not applicable** — the check does not apply to this business, and it is removed from the calculation entirely rather than counted as a failure.

What a score means

A score is a measure of how well your homepage does the job of a homepage — not a measure of your business. Most real websites land between 40 and 75. Above 80 means the basics are genuinely in place; below 40 usually means one or two structural problems are dragging everything else down.
