Why a score changes between scans

The three reasons a rescan can show a different number.

A rescan can differ for three reasons, and FixSift tells you which.

1. Your website changed

The usual reason, and the one the comparison view is built to show: what you fixed, what improved, what is still there, and what is new.

2. The page loaded differently

Some pages serve different content to different visitors, or depend on scripts that sometimes do not finish. Where the scan got materially less of your page than last time, the report says so.

3. FixSift changed

When the analysis or the scoring model is updated, part of a difference can come from us rather than from you. When that happens, the comparison carries a notice saying so. We never quietly restate an old report: a report you have already bought does not change.

Did this not answer it? Write to us with the address you used and what happened.
